Continuing on with the Fenty Beauty reviews, (=> CLICK HERE <= for the Killawatt Highlighter) today we thought we would do a review on the primer and foundation in the collection!
So first off, we LOVE the packaging! So they come in a glass bottle which have a matte finish on the cap and the bottle is just super cute! Now onto the products!
The first product we want to talk about would be the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer which is an oil-free primer with a blurring effect. At first when we saw this, we were a bit sceptical as it does a soft-matte finish so we were worried that it would be kind of dry or bring out the dryness in our skin but we were so surprised to find the product to actually be really light, hydrating and moisturising! We think for those with dry skin, this works quite well however, if your skin is on the oilier side this might not work as well after a while because of the moisture and that it does have a matte finish. The only downside to this product we would have to say is that it doesn’t completely blur out the pores so depending on what you want to cover or smooth out for your skin, this might not be the primer you are looking for.
Now moving on to foundation! So the foundation in this collection is called the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. So we were super ecstatic when we found out this foundation actually comes in 40 shades! Usually with foundations, it is quite hard to find a perfect colour match but the huge range of shades really gives us a lot more options! So this also retails for $50AUD which we thought was actually a very good price for the amount you get and the quality of the product and the packaging as well.
We were a bit scared at first as it is a matte foundation but were so shocked to find that again, just like the primer, this is SUPER WATERY! And what we also love about this foundation, is how amazingly light it is! If you do love a natural glowy makeup look, this is definitely the foundation for you! This foundation gives you a lovely natural good skin look and although after the first layer, you might think the coverage is quite light; it is definitely buildable without becoming cakey and can become something of a more medium coverage. This foundation does dry quite fast though so make sure you blend quickly! As this is a more water based foundation, you might find that lines on your skin are a bit more visible than if you were to use a more cream based foundation but for us, that was the only downside. If you do have oilier skin, we found that this actually does last quite well even through sweat and does not clog our pores!
