So we thought it was finally time to do a review on the YSL All Hours Foundation which we have been absolutely loving lately! It has actually become one of our go to foundations lately especially for work and long hours of the day! So if you want to find out more about this, keep on reading!
So this foundation has an advanced formula containing Broad Spectrum SPF20 and claims to last 24-Hours without caking, drying or flaking and is full coverage. Although it is on the pricier side of things, the price of this foundation you will find is similar to all other high end makeup brands.
From the moment we applied this onto our skin, we were in LOVE! The texture of this foundation is quite thin and watery which you normally would not expect for a high coverage foundation. Although at first when you do apply it on your skin it has a light creamy texture to it, we found it dries quite quickly and becomes slightly harder to blend. Although you can apply it on however you like, we do find that blending with fingers is a lot easier than using a makeup brush.
The staying power of this is quite INCREDIBLE! Even on days we do not set our foundation, we find that the creasing around the sides of the nose are very minimal and is probably one of the foundations that creases the least on those areas. Even without setting though, the foundation stays very well on oily skin and doesn’t crease at all! Although we wouldn’t necessarily say it stays for 24-Hours, it definitely lasts a good 8 hours on our skin before a touch-up is needed. What really surprised us is that usually after a few hours, on oily skin it feels like the foundation might slip off however, it stayed put all day and even at the end of the day when we took it off, we found that it didn’t clog our pores at all!
Although it does say that it is a full coverage foundation, we actually found the formula to be more of a medium coverage but can be built up to a higher coverage. Even on dry skin on areas that are particularly prone to flaking, we found this foundation did not cause any problems at all but however, if applied too much though it does feel like it could start to dry out the skin a little bit but otherwise, this foundation should do the job!
In terms of it being a matte foundation, we found it to have a velvet matte finish which made the skin have a more soft natural finish and did not make it look cakey despite building it up to a full coverage foundation. This formula also contains black tea anti-oxidant complex which helps to combat the signs of dullness and fatigue and protects the skin from pollution which we thought was also quite beneficial for the skin.
They also come in a HUGGGEEE range of shades with a neutral, warm and cool tone for each shade which we think is really good as not many high-end brands do this and it’s always hard to get a perfect match!
What did you guys think about this foundation? And if you haven’t tried it yet, definitely get a sample and try it out as it is just AMAZING! Let us know what you think in the comments below! And if you haven’t already, make sure to check out a few of our previous posts!
