We are super excited to share with you our thoughts on todays post. If you have followed us for a while you probably know or have realised that Dior is one of our favourite makeup brand so the idea of them releasing new collections or products is just amazing. Even better when it is a BRAND new product that has never been released before and this is what we will be discussing today.
Dior recently launched their Dior Addict Lip Tattoo and it is their first ever lip tint product. Now that itself is quite exhilarating. The product is said to be long-wearing (since it’s a tint), natural, no-transfer finish (omg) and weightless and comfortable. Now that is a lot to promise for a product that they’ve never released before. Before we got our hands on this, we thought that it might be similar to the Lancome Juicy Shaker which is quite a loved product by many so we were a bit skeptical and we definitely didn’t want to have our hopes too high.
The first thing that came to mind when we saw this was the fact that there’s only 5 shades now that is a bit of a let down simply because it is always nicer to have a wider range to choose from so we are really hoping that they will bring out some newer shades in the future.
The second thing we wanted to see was how it felt on the lips. For us lip tints are either a hit or a miss there’s never an in between or we at least haven’t found one yet. This is mainly because our lips either feel too dry after applying it or its hydrated but the formula doesn’t stay on very well and then we just see no point in having the item. When we first applied this, we can’t say that we liked it from the get go, it felt very ordinary on our lips, like most other tints but it didn’t seem to stay on very well. BUT, give it approximately 5-10 seconds and tadah, you’re left with a lip tattoo, literally just like the name says. However, this is quite easy to remove with makeup remover so if you don’t like the idea of scrubbing the living day lights out of ur lips then you don’t have to worry about that.
After we applied it we wanted to test all the specifications that was stated on the Dior website. So lets just do it in checklist form.
- Long-wearing: Lasted for about 3 hours but then we had dinner and afterwards we definitely needed to reapply so not too bad for our standards but might be a little bit disappointing seeing that it is a lip ‘tint’.
- Natural: This is a tricky one, how ‘natural’ IS natural…… you can definitely see that you have product on your lips so to us we don’t really understand why they had to add the natural part in.
- No-transfer finish: YES!!!!!!! This one HIT the spot. We had absolutely no problems with transfer so they really did a GREAT job with this one.
- Weightless and comfortable: YES YES YES!!!!!!!! You literally forget that you have anything on. As we previously mentioned, we compared this to the Lancome Juicy Shaker and with that we found that sometimes our lips will feel a bit tight and we don’t enjoy that feeling at all and everytime we smile or talk we’re constantly reminded about our lips. With this product we didn’t experience this problem at all. Our lips weren’t dry nor did it feel tight so already this product is overtaking the Juicy Shakers (our opinion though).
Now overall we really like the product and to us there aren’t much flaws other than the fact that there isn’t a huge variety of shades to pick from BUT at least they got the formula right (to our liking) which is the most important part.
Alright guys, this is all we have for now. If you have any other questions about this product, feel free to leave a comment below. ALSO if you have tried this please tell us what you thought!!!!!!!! Did you like it? Did you hate it?
