In high end foundation world, there are a few staple foundations that every if not most makeup fanatics will own and one of them is Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation. However, today we will be discussing their newest addition, Power Fabric. Now to be completely honest, the only reason why we were interested in this is because of the Luminous Silk Foundation but we made sure to not be over excited just incase it wasn’t to our liking.
The foundation comes in 20 shades which is absolutely fantastic because the last thing you want is to not be able to match your shade. Now this is a full coverage foundation with a matte finish so you might think that it will be very heavy BUT it is so ridiculously light that it actually feels like your skin. It is not at all greasy but at the same time it isn’t too dry like a typical matte foundation where all your dry patches will show up but it is still on the drier side of the spectrum. It definitely has a matte finish just like it said it does, but we think that depending on your moisturiser, it can also be more of a velvety finish. So far it doesn’t seem too dry on our skin but we will have to wait till winter to really know, or at least when the weather gets colder.
Personally the luminous silk foundation will always have a place on our makeup table simply because it has made a name for itself. But the winning factor of this foundation is that it has SPF 25 and since we live in Australia, that is a major plus for us. For a completely matte foundation that offers full coverage, we were pleasantly surprised with the formula, finish, lasting power, everything. For this foundation we don’t even think a finishing powder is necessary as the lasting power is really good and even after a few hours it still doesn’t look as if you have anything on your face.
