We know we’ve been gone for quite a while, but we are back!!! So we thought why not start it off with the new Dior collection??? So as you can probably tell from the title of this post, it will be on the new eyeshadow palettes from the collection.
So for the theme of the new spring collection, as the name suggests, it is all about gradient! The palettes are a good example of this as both palettes play on 4 different tone variations of the one colour. Although we did like the idea of the palette and the layout of the shadows were different from the classic Dior layout, we personally found the colours weren’t diverse enough nor versatile enough to suit every individual’s needs.
#001 Blue Gradation
This first palette, from left to right includes 4 tones from sky blue to azure. While swatching the shades, we found the colours extremely streaky and did not transfer well onto the skin making the application pretty bad which we found quite disappointing actually. The colours themselves all contained quite a bit of shimmer and although we liked the theme of the gradient colours, the shades are probably ones we would not wear together or alone unlike many other palettes which when worn together somehow works.
#002 Coral Gradation
The second palette, from left to right, contains 4 tones from light coral to carnal bronze. This palette was a lot better than the Blue Gradation palette and the colours swatched quite smoothly. The colours did come out similar to the actual colours in the palette with the second orange colour coming out on the skin as a very light tangerine colour. We would have to say out of the two, this palette was probably the most versatile and wearable for everyday. We do wish however, that the colours were a bit warmer as they were quite light and cold or if not a bit darker as it would be easier to wear.
