Continuing on with favourites of 2016, we decided to do a post on our top 5 perfumes! 2016 was actually a really big perfume year for us with us finding some staple scents for us that we have been using basically everyday of this year. So without further ado, here are our top 5!
Le Labo “Rose 31”
We’ve actually wrote a post about this perfume before, for more details, please -> CLICK HERE <-. The scent actually doesn’t contain a very strong rose smell like the name suggests, as the first thought that hits you is more of a woody scent but afterwards it is softened by a very subtle rose aroma. This scent although has very subtle rose scents, is still quite a strongly scented perfume and actually lasts all day so it makes it perfect for those long work days.
Le Labo ” Thé Noir 29″
So basically, this scent smells quite like a darker version of the ‘Rose 31’. It has more of a very woody sweet smell. Due to the method of extraction of the black tea scent, it leaves a subtle dry tobacco feeling to the perfume while the top notes such as fig and cedar make the perfume more feminine and creates a sensual yet cosy essence to it. Just like ‘Rose 31’, it has quite a strong staying power which makes it great to wear on long days. This actually also mixes great with other scents and we sometimes like to spray this on under other scents as a base. To read more about this perfume, please -> CLICK HERE <-
Creed “Silver Mountain Water”
This scent is unisex however when you first smell it it will seem more masculine than feminine but if worn properly, can still pass for a female scent. Every time I spray this my mood instantly calms down and you don’t need much of it especially if you are female as it is very overpowering when sprayed too much so normally I only spray it twice and only on my clothes as that way I find it to be just a little softer. The longevity of the perfume is insane and definitely one of the best but I wouldn’t say that the fragrance lingers very far especially after a couple of hours. Creed “Green Irish Tweed”
So yes, this may be a men’s fragrance but when lightly sprayed, it can be still be worn by a female. This has quite a fresh yet woody smell. It also kind of reminds me of sunny days and freshly cut grass. The longevity of this is also quite strong just like the “Silver Mountain Water” both being two of Creed’s bestselling scents, they are definitely worth checking out!
Chanel “Bleu De Chanel”
As you can probably tell by now, we have a love of male and unisex fragrances with this also being a male scent. However, we find that this actually smells quite feminine to us while at the same time, we feel a sense of protection and masculinity. So this perfume has an aromatic-woody fragrance with amber and musky notes. A little goes a long way with this fragrance and we find just 2-3 sprays are enough to last all day.
We hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you did, please feel free to check out our other posts below!
