A few days ago, we swore to ourselves that we were only going to window shop. We were doing quite well as we had already walked past a few of our favorite brands. However, whilst walking past Dior something caught our eye and all morales broke down and we ended up with MORE lipsticks! (surprise, surprise)
So, the collection itself has the same concept as the Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument Collection which you can find Part I and Part II here –> CLICK ME – OR ME <– as it is also Dior’s Holiday 2015 collection. As it is not as limited as the Chanel, we weren’t in a rush really to purchase all of them items and thus only bought the ‘Diorific Mat’ lipsticks.
In comparison to the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet, the formula has a more satin feel to it and once applied it doesn’t feather as much especially if your lips were having one of those dry days. However with that being said if you were after a more matte finish then the Chanel Velvet is definitely more ideal in this case. Additionally, packaging wise, the Chanel packaging has a classier look to it whilst the Dior is a lot more bulkier in size which really is quite a shame because if the packaging was just a bit sleeker then we would love it SO much more.
Now onto the colors:
A gorgeous nude toned rose color which was the first one that caught Izzy’s eyes as she hasn’t really gone nude for a while.
This one is a beautiful raspberry red that isn’t to pink nor to red and personally I think it’s one of those shades that suits most skin tones.
For this color, when you apply it, it actually isn’t as strong as you think it would be and it is actually just a tiny bit darker or if only dabbed on than basically the same as the Chanel Rough Coco in shade #21 Rivoli which has unfortunately been discontinued T.T
A very nude color with a bit of pink in it which only works if the rest of your makeup is on point as it can easily wash you out. This color actually reminded us of the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Satin Radiance Lipstick in shade #11 Rose Carnation.
I was actually contemplating about getting this one as well simply because IT’S SO GORGEOUS but then I resisted haha because it was REALLY similar to the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet #43 La Favorite but just a bit more red toned so I thought I could kind of make that color myself and resisted haha.
Now, this color is just straight out fuchsia but similar to the Troublante, it’s not as bright when you apply it so it’s still quite wearable and truth be told, I actually think I might go back for this color because I just can’t get it out of my head………. oh boy……
So for now, this is what we have, we’re not quite sure if we will be purchasing anything else from the collection but if so, it’ll definitely be in an upcoming post ^^”
