Before I started incorporating clarisonic into my daily / weekly facial regime, I never understood the need for it and quite frankly I didn’t really see how it would make a huge different if not, any. But afterwards it just started getting more and more and MORE popular and everyone that’s used it raved about it like there was no other wonder in the world so I thought, oh why not give it a try and that’s how I started my journey with Clarisonic.
Ok now this is going to be a very wordy essay so be prepared!! ~
First up before I go any deeper I just wanted to give a brief overview on the many choices that they offer.
For devices alone, they have Mia 1,2 and 3, SMART Profile, Alpha Fit, Pedi and the Sonic Radiance.
And then for brush heads they have Sensitive brush head (the one that comes with the devices), Deep pore, Acne, Radiance, Alpha fit men’s, Cashmere, Delicate, SMART dynamic, Satin and Normal.
So the device I have is the Mia 2 and I have tried the sensitive, deep pore, acne and cashmere brush heads so these will be the ones that I’m going to kind of review.
First up, what is my skin type, so my skin kind of varies, I would normally categorize it as being combination as I would have a really oily t-zone but my chin and cheeks are relatively dry or sometimes they’re oily and other times my whole face needs moisture however, I am prone to breakouts so I can never pinpoint exactly what skin type I have which is why I just stick to combination.
I don’t use the clarisonic twice a day or even daily for that matter, I only use it when I have face makeup on so that’s around 3-5 times a week. Now before I continue, yes you can use it daily and yes you can also use it twice a day although personally I don’t think that’s suitable for everyone and it will be really important to have the correct face wash and brush. Also on the days that I do wear makeup I don’t use it for the whole duration of 1 minute which is divided to 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 on nose and chin and 10 for each cheek. Normally I try to keep it within 40 seconds simply because I double wash my face and I only use the clarisonic when I’m using my daily cleanser so sometimes when I use it for the entire duration it feels too stripping.
But of course, if you feel that 1 minute is perfect then by all means go by that.
Now, onto the brush heads that I’ve tried.
Firstly, the sensitive brush head.
So this is the one that all the devices come with (at least that’s what I think) I personally didn’t enjoy it to much which is a bugger since it’s the one that everyone begins with HOWEVER, that’s just me and I do know people who are loyal to these brush heads so by all means give it a shot and if it works then you were lucky and if it doesn’t then I would start hunting for another brush head and maybe do a bit of research so that you can find one that will be a better match.
Secondly, the deep pore brush head.
This is the first brush head that I tried after 3 months of the sensitive (btw you need/should replace your heads every 3 months, HYGIENE GUYS) and I loved it. I don’t know if its because I didn’t like the first one but it just seems SO much better and that actually made me want to use my clarisonic again. For this brush head I wouldn’t recommend it if you have dry or sensitive skin as that is the complete opposite to what I have (at least some parts of my face) and personally it would just be to stripping for you guys.
BUT no worries I do have a recommendation coming up so just keep scrolling. (≧▽≦)/
Thirdly, the acne brush head.
I think for this one the name says it all and I would use either this one of the deep pore brush head, they’re equally as good so I don’t have anything to complain about. The one advantage I think for this brush head is that it’s softer(?) so if you are considering between the two and you really can’t decide then this might be a factor to consider.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, the cashmere brush head.
Oh boy do I love this. It is my ABSOLUTE (at least till now), it’s soft, it does its job and seeing that on some weeks I do need to use it 5 times a week, this brush really makes a difference. Despite it not being designed specifically for deep pore/acne problems I think it is just as effective and definitely a lot calmer on your skin. I think for now this will be the brush head to go for and quite frankly if I can get people to try only one brush head, this will be the one I recommend. Additionally, for all those people with dry/sensitive skin THIS was the one I wanted to share with you guys. It is a bit more pricey than the other ones but honestly, why would you spend less on a brush that doesn’t even suit you?? ALSO, it never hurts to try right?? 〜☆〜☆〜☆〜☆〜☆
Alright, now I know this has been a very wordy or just plain long post but I really wanted to just share my opinion on the device and help out viewers who are maybe considering buying this. Which is why I hope this post helped even if it’s just a little bit and definitely let me know what you think.
